Resume Writing Tips & Tricks
You need a resume that helps you stand out in a tough and highly competitive job market. Your resume communicates to employers and recruitment officers who you are and why you are qualified. How polished your resume is can help you in your job search and get an interview, bringing you closer to landing a job.
Advice for interview preparation
When you’ve been invited to an interview, it means that your application has made a good impression. You need to take that up a notch and prepare for the interview to increase your chance of successfully getting the job.
Pre-employment Training
Some employers conduct pre-employment screening, which allows them to see if you have the right skills and aptitude for the job. Preparing for it can help you feel more confident about your qualifications, ensuring that you are properly equipped with the competence and knowledge that meet emerging labour market needs.
Support in The Workplace
Ongoing support for Indigenous Australians in the workplace can help you flourish and grow in your role. It is important to overcome several barriers that keep Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people from keeping their jobs, such as discrimination and retention issues.
Indigenous Mentor
Mentoring is critical to overcoming Indigenous Australians’ barriers to employment. Mentors can support you in harnessing your hard skills and knowledge—and beyond. They can provide emotional support, encouragement, and positive reinforcement that can help you navigate through the competitive workplace.

What are Apprenticeships and Traineeships?
Prestige Staffing Solutions offers a number of apprenticeships and traineeships. What are they, and how are they different?
Apprenticeships and traineeships are quite similar to each other. You get hands-on experience from the actual workplace to increase your knowledge and skills in a particular field while also getting paid for the training.
The main difference between apprenticeships and traineeships is the time it takes to complete them. Apprenticeships tend to be longer, at 3 to 4 years, honing your trade skills, such as engineering, electrical, and automotive mechanic.
Traineeships can be completed in 1 to 2 years and are focused on vocational skills, such as business administration and project management.
You can undertake apprenticeships and traineeships no matter your age. You can choose based on your passion, and Prestige Staffing Solutions can connect you with one of the businesses we have partnership with.

Why you need Indigenous employment training
If you are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, you might have faced complex barriers to employment. But it shouldn’t be that way—there are plenty of career opportunities in Australia, and it’s not impossible to get your dream job.
The projected employment growth in Australia for the five years to November 2026 shows a very high demand for professionals (up by 494,200). About 91.7% of new jobs will require a bachelor’s degree or higher, while 60% will need high-skill levels.
Most Indigenous Australians have lower-skill qualifications. Education, training, and skill levels are among the top reasons why the Indigenous unemployment rate is so high. We are one with the Australian Government in recognizing the importance of improving Indigenous employment and making it a priority. It’s time to change the narrative and move up with your career development.
Today, you can increase your skill level through traineeships, apprenticeships, and mentorships. These serve as a huge stepping stone for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people to pursuing formal education or getting promoted to higher positions within your workplace.
Our indigenous employment, engagement, and education program can help you prepare for better career and employment opportunities. You can reach your full potential and be more aware of the possibilities that you can access.
Through hands-on experience and training, you can develop a strong professional foundation and exposure to various employment options.
Total Projected Employment Growth
About 65.4% of the total projected employment growth between November 2021 to November 2026 is in the services industries:
Health care and social assistance
The health care and social assistance sector is the fastest-growing and largest employing industry in Australia. The top occupations include registered nurse, aged and disabled caregiver, child caregiver, receptionist, and nursing and personal care worker.
It’s a highly skilled field, and you can start your career pathway through university or vocational education and training (VET) qualifications. You can also start working in the sector as a part-time worker.
Professional, scientific, and technical services
The professional, scientific, and technical services industry jobs include scientists, accountants, architects, engineers, advertising and marketing specialists, lawyers, photographers, and computer system designers. It’s a highly skilled industry that requires a university degree.
Education and training
The education and training sector is also a large-employing industry. Most workers have formal qualifications, such as a university degree or VET. The industry employs a wide range of occupations, from primary school teachers to private tutors to sports coaches to child carers and general clerks.
Accommodation and food services
Then, the accommodation and food services sector is where on-the-job training and part-time work are common. You don’t need a university degree, but post-school qualifications may help you boost your career up a notch. Occupations include café and restaurant managers, retail managers, cooks, waiters, chefs, service crew, and sales assistants, among others.
